I have a few quick minutes before Stephen gets home from soccer and I just wanted to write about our last couple nights with the new sleeping arrangement we've got going on.
Natalie is NO LONGER in our room and I am beyond thrilled. Call me cold hearted but I'm jazzed to finally have my nights back to myself (I say as I hear a squeal coming from the monitor. ha) Natalie is doing so well and Miss Evelyne is also doing very well adjusted to now sharing a room.
The first night I kind of 'cheated' and put Natalie to bed asleep around 9:30. She slept until about 12:45 and fussed for about 20 minutes. Luckily Evelyne slept through it! At about 3:30, I was woken up by BOTH of the girls crying so Stephen(who was getting ready for work) and I jetted in the room. He sat next to E and tried to calm her down. I scooped her up as soon as I could and brought her to bed with me. "You're just going to let Natalie cry?" he said, Heck yes! She fussed for TEN minutes and was out till 5:45!!
The second night I decided to put the girls to bed at the same time knowing that most likely Natalie would cry... She did just that. Evelyne was fine with it for about the first 15minutes but then started to cry herself. So I took her to our bed and let her fall asleep there. Natalie cried for 50minutes... :( It was so HARD. Luckily I had Stephen up helping me through it. He reminded me that it wouldn't make sense to let her cry and then go in and get her because that would defeat the whole purpose! So when we went to bed I put Evelyne back in hers and Natalie slept from 9:00 till 5:30!!! Woohoo!
And tonight (night three) I put the girls to bed at the same time again and it was amazing! We said prayers, got Evelyne all snuggled in her bed, got Natalie in her crib. She fussed/hummed for about 10 minutes but didn't "cry" at all!!! Evelyne must have been irritated because she started to cry. So instead of taking her to my room (a habit that i DO NOT want to start) I just quietly went in and told her 'sister is ok. she is going to stop crying in a little bit. roll over on your tummy and close your eyes and go sleepy. sisters ok. i love you' she said 'love you too' and didn't I didn't hear from her again. :) So far, this night has been wonderful!
