Family Hikes

This last month we went on a few family hikes. We've come to enjoy it quite a bit. Natalie goes in the front pack and Evelyne goes in the back pack and off we go! Here are some pictures from Beacon Rock and Hamilton Mt. It was a blast!! Fun exercising??? No way! ;o)

HAMILTON MT.

BEACON ROCK

Here's Stephen and I in twenty years...

My parents are goobers. And I love them.

imagination

Since having Natalie I was curios how long it would take Evelyne to pick up on what nursing was. She is a pretty smart little girl and was curios from day one. It threw me for a loop when one day she lifted up her shirt and said "mommy, baby doll feed", "feed" and 'nursed' her baby.. I wasn't quite sure how to react. I thought it was pretty dang cute and smart too! In these last few months Evelyne has become very into her baby doll. She likes to rock her and 'shh shh shh' her and anything else that she sees us doing to Natalie. It's pretty sweet. The other day I noticed she was feeding her with a bottle. The 'bottle' was two duplo blocks put together. I just thought it was the cutest thing and I'm so excited that Evelyne is using her imagination like that. Evelyne has done so well with sharing her Mommy with Baby Sister, and she is really doing so well and being a big sister. I love my two girls so much and have so much fun with them every day!

Papa's Birthday

A few Sundays ago we went over to my parents to surprise Brent with a birthday cake. He thought were there to visit and eat their food like every other Sunday we are there but we tricked him good with cake and presents. Brent is such a great grandpa to the girls and they love him so much. Evelyne's eye's just light up when she sees her 'Papa'.

Us girls (Hayden, my Mom and I) got a real laugh when we were 'decorating' the cake. In my family decorating means using the sprinkles that comes with the can of frosting and putting on a candle or two. LOL Well, we didn't have sprinkles because it was the left over frosting my mom had in the fridge and we didn't have candles so we used the '16' from Hayden birthday that was in September. *Brent isn't really 61. Ha. AND, I was low on the squirt out writing frosting stuff (brain fart) so it ended up saying 'Happy b-d'. Bahaha. We just thought that was hilarious.

Happy Birthday to Papa!

Sleep!

I have a few quick minutes before Stephen gets home from soccer and I just wanted to write about our last couple nights with the new sleeping arrangement we've got going on.

Natalie is NO LONGER in our room and I am beyond thrilled. Call me cold hearted but I'm jazzed to finally have my nights back to myself (I say as I hear a squeal coming from the monitor. ha) Natalie is doing so well and Miss Evelyne is also doing very well adjusted to now sharing a room.

The first night I kind of 'cheated' and put Natalie to bed asleep around 9:30. She slept until about 12:45 and fussed for about 20 minutes. Luckily Evelyne slept through it! At about 3:30, I was woken up by BOTH of the girls crying so Stephen(who was getting ready for work) and I jetted in the room. He sat next to E and tried to calm her down. I scooped her up as soon as I could and brought her to bed with me. "You're just going to let Natalie cry?" he said, Heck yes! She fussed for TEN minutes and was out till 5:45!!

The second night I decided to put the girls to bed at the same time knowing that most likely Natalie would cry... She did just that. Evelyne was fine with it for about the first 15minutes but then started to cry herself. So I took her to our bed and let her fall asleep there. Natalie cried for 50minutes... :( It was so HARD. Luckily I had Stephen up helping me through it. He reminded me that it wouldn't make sense to let her cry and then go in and get her because that would defeat the whole purpose! So when we went to bed I put Evelyne back in hers and Natalie slept from 9:00 till 5:30!!! Woohoo!

And tonight (night three) I put the girls to bed at the same time again and it was amazing! We said prayers, got Evelyne all snuggled in her bed, got Natalie in her crib. She fussed/hummed for about 10 minutes but didn't "cry" at all!!! Evelyne must have been irritated because she started to cry. So instead of taking her to my room (a habit that i DO NOT want to start) I just quietly went in and told her 'sister is ok. she is going to stop crying in a little bit. roll over on your tummy and close your eyes and go sleepy. sisters ok. i love you' she said 'love you too' and didn't I didn't hear from her again. :) So far, this night has been wonderful!

"Help Me Find the Water"

I LOVE music.. I love everything about it. I'm so thrilled that music (and dancing) is also one of Evelynes 'likes' She has so much fun singing and listening to music. Here we are singing "I am a child of God". My favorite is "Help me find the water"... it's suppose to be 'way'. LOL. And the some'time' instead of some'day'!!! LOL!! That girl cracks me up! Enjoy! ;o)
